Stamford, Connecticut. The XFL have announced the XFL Awards for the first quarter and they are as follows:
Manager of the Quarter - Sven Goran-Eriksson (Manchester City) Player of the Quarter - Peter Crouch (Liverpool)
Sven has showed the England national side, led by the absolute idiot Steve McClaren, what they're missing by taking Manchester City to the top of the XFL table. An amazing feat considering City were Eleventh and last in the XFL draft. Sven's reputation as a master thinker and tactical have been reaffirmed and on this form, would you bet against City for the Title?
While not the flashiest player or even the leagues top scorer, Peter Crouch has impressed over the past four games, but surely what won him this award was the magnificent 5 goals he scored in Liverpool's 7-6 win over Arsenal. While Liverpool still languish in the bottom half of the table, you can be certain things would be much worse for Rafa's men were it not for Crouch.
The goal celebration is pretty cool too.

London, England. As if we couldn't have guessed, Jose Mourinho has spoken out about this coming Saturdays encounter with Rangers in the XFL Cup
"We fear them" he admitted, the press shocked by this unusually humble claim
"Not the players, they are all a bunch of women - the fans, they are crazy, skirt wearing and face painting, when i sit in the dugout i fear that spears will be thrown" he claimed
"When they do not win, 50,000 Scotsmen will turn to us and expose their ass, this is not good for the morale of Chelsea and not good for me personally, i do not want to see hairy Scottish asses, we may have to throw this game"

Manchester, England. Man United boss Sir Alex Ferguson was in confident mood last night after seeing his side rise to Second in the table "Aye well they've been showing that promise again ya'noo, we always knew this pairing of Rooney and Tevez would come good, with Arsenal theres no greater attacking force but we have a great defense as well" he claim, complimenting Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards on their improved form. Manchester United play Manchester City in the Mnachester derby this Saturday as both teams look to progress in the XFL Cuip, City having already beaten United in the league. |
